Features

Why this is the best
Claude to PDF converter

The Claude to PDF Extension is built specifically for Claude's output — not a generic HTML-to-PDF tool bolted onto an extension.

Pixel-perfect PDF rendering — every time

Our Claude to PDF Extension reads Claude's conversation DOM directly and converts every element to its PDF-native equivalent. Headings stay headings. Code looks like code. You get a document that looks hand-designed, not machine-dumped.

  • H1/H2/H3 headings rendered with proper hierarchy and spacing
  • Code blocks in monospace font with syntax-aware shading
  • Markdown bold, italic, strikethrough, and links fully supported
  • Numbered and bulleted lists with correct indentation

Export exactly the messages you want

Long Claude thread but only need Claude's brilliant final answer? Use message-level selection to export just the parts that matter. Create a focused PDF without the messy back-and-forth.

  • Select individual messages with simple checkboxes
  • Export a range (e.g. messages 5–20 of a long session)
  • Include only Claude's responses — skip your prompts
  • Combine selected messages into one clean, continuous PDF

100% Private & Local

Your Claude conversations never leave your browser. The PDF is generated entirely on your device — no cloud upload, no server, no conversation logs ever stored.

LaTeX Math Rendered

Mathematical equations written by Claude are rendered beautifully in your PDF — not as raw LaTeX text, not as blurry images, but as properly typeset math.

5 Export Themes

Choose from Academic, Minimal, Dark, Technical, and Business PDF themes before downloading. Each theme controls fonts, margins, header styles, and color accents.

Under 3 Seconds Flat

Even 500-message Claude sessions export to PDF in under 3 seconds. The converter runs in a background worker — no UI freeze, no timeout, no waiting.

FAQ

Questions about
Claude to PDF

What exactly does "Claude to PDF" mean — what file do I get?

You get a standard .pdf file — universally readable on any device, operating system, or PDF viewer without any plugins or conversion. All formatting is rendered as visual output: headings look like headings, code blocks have monospace fonts and background shading, tables have borders and alignment, and math equations are properly typeset. The file is print-ready and share-ready the moment it downloads.

Does Claude to PDF Extension work with Claude Pro and Claude Teams?

Yes. Claude Exporter works with all Claude tiers — Free, Pro, Teams, and Enterprise. It also works with Claude integrated into Google Workspace, Slack, and third-party apps that use the Claude interface. As long as the conversation is visible in your browser at claude.ai, it can be exported to PDF.

Will my Claude conversation data be uploaded to your servers?

Absolutely not. The entire Claude to PDF conversion runs locally inside your browser using JavaScript and a client-side PDF rendering library. Your conversation text is read from the page, rendered into a PDF file entirely in memory, and downloaded directly to your device. Zero bytes of your conversation are ever transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can independently verify this by opening Chrome DevTools → Network tab while exporting.

How do code blocks and syntax highlighting look in the exported PDF?

Code blocks are rendered with a monospace font (Fira Mono), a light gray or dark background fill depending on your selected theme, and preserved indentation and line breaks. Inline code gets a subtle background tint to distinguish it from prose. In the Technical and Dark themes, you also get basic token-level color differentiation for common languages like Python, JavaScript, and SQL.

Can I select only specific messages to include in the PDF?

Yes, and this is one of our most-used features. You have three export modes: (1) Full conversation — from the very first message to the last; (2) Range selection — enter a start and end message number; (3) Manual checkbox selection — tick individual messages one by one. This lets you build a focused PDF from only the most valuable parts of a long Claude session.

Does Claude to PDF Extension work on Microsoft Edge and Brave?

Yes. Claude Exporter is published on the Chrome Web Store, which is natively supported by Microsoft Edge (Chromium) and Brave browser. Install it from the Chrome Web Store in any of these Chromium-based browsers and it will work immediately on claude.ai. Firefox is not currently supported as it uses a different extension API.

What happens when Anthropic updates the Claude interface?

We monitor claude.ai for interface changes continuously. When Anthropic ships a UI update, we typically release a compatibility fix within 24–48 hours. Chrome extensions update silently and automatically — you never need to reinstall. If you notice an issue after a Claude update, use the in-extension bug report button and we'll prioritize it in our next release.
